Just Thinking

As I sit here writing this post I think back to when I posted my hand crafted wine glasses. Whenever I create something new I always ask, will it sell? It seems if there is doubt in my mine of its acceptance it does very well.

Last week Pelham Gifts held a special event on Tuesday evening and my wine glasses were the hit of the night. The shop sold a set of two and received a special order for four. I also received an order for two glasses from that post. Needless to say I have been turning like  crazy and generating quite the pile of shavings.

My 16 month old grandson Lucas takes great pleasure in watching the chips fly and helping Pepere sweep them up or I should say spread them all over the place, but thats OK it makes him happy and me as well.

One of the biggest craft shows of the season will be taking place at Rockingham Park in Salem, NH on Nov. 9, 10 and 11.

Pelham Gifts will be represented at this show, so please stop by.

I will be posting pictures of the latest version of my wine glasses in another post.

See you soon

New From My Shop

Hand Turned Wine GlassesI just finished a pair of hand turned wine glasses. The stemware is a 10 oz. Bordeaux Goblet and the base is turned from a piece of Silver Maple. The color is Walnut and the finish is Spar varnish making them water resistnt. These glasses can be used for any of your favorite wines. Simply hand wash your glasses when finished and dry at once. Never soak theses glasses in water or put them in the dishwasher and they will last for many years.

These glasses can be purchased for $18.00 each plus shipping if applicable at Pelham Gifts in

Pelham, NH or can be special ordered.

I am working on a second set of glasses that will be turned from Silver Maple and will have an ebony color so stay tuned.

Don’t forget about Pelham Old Home Day on September 15, some of my work will be displayed and for sale at the Pelham Gifts booth.

Figured Maple Bowl

This hand turned bowl was made on the lathe and is made of highly figured maple. The bowl has nice details and measures 7 1/2″ in diameter by 2″ high and is 1″ deep. The bowl has beautiful grain and figuring and is natural in color. The finish is hand rubbed polyurathane.

This bowl will make a great accent piece in any room of your home and would look great displayed on black or dark furniture.
